Last spring several of us were mesmerized by Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution where he took Huntington WV and worked to transform the fattest city in America to one that knows how to eat better.
The Lunch Box project is not just taking on one city, but trying to take on all schools. They provide resources and recipes to make school lunches healthier. Despite what you may think about school food, in some cases this is the only way that some students between 5 and 18 get food. Working in a school myself, many of us say that we have gained significant weight on school food diets. Having a movement that supports change in the cafeterias that are so dependent on that bottom line, will benefit our children significantly.
