Most of the things I NEED, I have

I am a material girl. I try to deny it, but I shop all the time, and I get mad when I can’t. I reveled in Sophie Kinsella’s Shopoholic books. While not a designer shopper, I do have a special way of acquiring junk. So in the week before New Year, I look at all this stuff, and think “Ok what am I taking to Good Will.” Knowing full well that I will not get a tax deduction.

Now you may have read the title and thought, “Oh heartwarming…next.” When I say the things I need, I’m thinking I NEED a tarp to cover the Cozy Coupe in the back yard. I need baskets or boxes to make my living room look less like a daycare.

I need 500 more dollars a month in my paycheck. I need cute classroom things I saw on pintrest I need new clothes.

These are really not needs, these are wants, and I could DIY some things to keep myself more organized.

I realized the other day that I could cover diaper boxes and get my baskets (if I can do it tastefully. I have crates, scrapbook paper, and scissors. I’m trying to come up with a solution for the tarp, but I definitely will be brown bagging it through January.

I think I might have what I need, it’s just figuring out how to make what I have fit those desires. I also have that mushy stuff too, but maybe I could use to be a little kinder too.

About schmeggo

Hi there and welcome to my little piece of web. I am a wife, a step mom, mom, and a teacher among other things. I am addicted to school supplies and getting things for as little as possible. During July and August I spend Sundays coming the papers and stalking my local Staples trying to find items at prices that I can get over 120 of them. During the school year, this is a personal blog of educational interest. I am by no means an expert on education and child rearing, but through trial and error, I hope we can help each other out. Whether you are buying for one or one-hundred, kindergarten to college, I hope that my little web space can help you find something trendy or cheap to make back to school on any day easier.
